Privacy policy
Pilot Notebook is designed to help pilots keep a professional logbook while staying in control of their own data. This page explains what information may be processed when you use the app and its optional online backup features.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account to use backup-related features, Pilot Notebook collects the email address used for authentication. Pilot Notebook does not ask for additional personal profile information for this purpose. If your authentication provider exposes a display name, that may also be visible as part of the account identity.
Pilot logbook data. If you choose to use online backup, your backup can include your flight records, simulator entries, aircraft information, signatures, statistics, settings, and related logbook data. This data remains your data.
Device information. Pilot Notebook backups also include limited platform information, currently the operating system and operating system version. This is mainly useful for compatibility analysis if you contact support about a technical issue.
2. Data storage and security
If you use online backup, your data is stored on Google infrastructure through Firebase services. Pilot Notebook relies on Google for the reliability and security of that backup storage layer. This policy does not promise a specific storage region.
If you do not use online backup, your logbook data remains stored locally on your device unless you export it yourself.
3. Access, control, and your rights
Pilot Notebook does not routinely access, review, or use your backup data. Your data belongs to you. Data would only be reviewed if you make a specific support request and choose to provide access for troubleshooting.
You can export your data, import it again, and delete your online backup directly from the app. If you delete your account, the related online backup is deleted as well.
If you are located in the European Economic Area or another region with similar protections, applicable law may also give you rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and data portability.
4. Data retention
Account-related backup data is retained only for as long as the backup remains associated with your account or until it is deleted by you or by deleting the related account.
If you remove the backup from the app, it is intended to be deleted from the online storage used for that backup.
5. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the product evolves. When that happens, the version published on this page should be treated as the current reference.
